Embark on a 10-day adventure exploring Tanzania’s stunning wildlife and beaches. Journey through Tarangire National Park, Lake Manyara National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, and Serengeti National Park, where you’ll see diverse wildlife, including elephants and big cats. Your trip culminates in Zanzibar, where you can relax on beautiful beaches, snorkel vibrant coral reefs, and experience the island’s rich culture. This itinerary offers a perfect mix of safari excitement and beach relaxation for an unforgettable experience.
DAY 1: Arrival in Arusha
- On DAY 1, you will be welcomed in Arusha or at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) and escorted to Arusha, the renowned starting point for northern Tanzania safari excursions. Overnight at a hotel in Arusha (BB), where you will receive a briefing and make final preparations for your thrilling wildlife journey.
DAY 2: Tarangire National Park
- DAY 2 kicks off with an 8:30 AM departure from your hotel in Arusha. Equipped with picnic lunches, you will head to Tarangire National Park, located 120km from the city. The Tarangire River draws a variety of wildlife, including vast herds of elephants, lions, zebras, and diverse bird species. Tarangire National Park is celebrated for its large elephant populations.
- Here, you’ll explore vast seasonal swamps, follow the winding Tarangire River, and enjoy panoramic views of a plethora of wildlife, including zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, and giraffes, all visible from the open roof of your safari vehicle. Look out for lions on the hunt and leopards lounging in the tree canopies. Following a rewarding day of wildlife observation, return to your lodge for a delightful dinner and a restful night’s sleep.
DAY 3: Serengeti National Park via Ngorongoro
- DAY 3 begins with an early morning departure for Serengeti National Park, traveling through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You might opt for a detour to Olduvai Gorge, an essential archaeological site where Drs. Louis and Mary Leakey unearthed evidence of early human existence in Africa. After enjoying a picnic lunch on a scenic kopje in the Serengeti, you’ll take an afternoon game drive leading to Serengeti Tortilis Camp, where you’ll arrive in time for dinner and spend the night.
DAY 4: Exploring Serengeti National Park
- The entire fourth day is devoted to exploring Serengeti National Park. Watch the spectacular wildlife scenes, including the great migration of wildebeests and zebras, and possibly observe a lion pride on the hunt. Enjoy a picnic lunch amidst the day’s adventures, and spend another night at the Serengeti Tortilis Camp.
DAY 5: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area
- Begin Day 5 with an early breakfast before a morning game drive through the expansive plains of the Serengeti, a hotspot for diverse wildlife and birdlife, particularly during the migration periods. Post lunch, continue to the Ngorongoro conservation area, reaching Karatu Acacia Farm Lodge by evening for dinner and overnight.
DAY 6: Ngorongoro Crater
- DAY 6 starts with an early breakfast before descending into the Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive. This stunning geological marvel is rich in wildlife and landscapes, offering a chance to spot the ‘Big Five’ in one of the most beautiful settings on the planet. In the evening, proceed to Lake Manyara Kilima Moja Luxury Lodge for dinner and overnight.
DAY 7: Lake Manyara to Zanzibar
- On the early morning of DAY 7, enjoy a sunrise game drive in Lake Manyara National Park. After a mid-morning picnic lunch, head to Arusha airport for your flight to the enchanting Zanzibar, the Spice Island. Upon arrival, transfer to Dream of Zanzibar (HB).
DAY 8: Relaxation in Zanzibar
- DAY 8 is your time to unwind on the beaches of Zanzibar. Spend the day leisurely after breakfast, soaking up the sun and sea, with dinner and overnight at Dream of Zanzibar (HB).
DAY 9: Leisure Day in Zanzibar
- Continue relaxing on DAY 9, enjoying the beach and water sports like snorkeling, kayaking, and sailing on traditional dhows. The day promises relaxation and fun, with dinner and another night at Dream of Zanzibar.
DAY 10: Departure from Zanzibar
- On the final day, DAY 10, after breakfast, enjoy your last moments on Zanzibar’s tranquil beaches. Spend a leisurely day before a final dinner and overnight stay at Dream of Zanzibar (HB).
